Why pitta

A reliable supply partner, not just a product

pitta is a U.S. registered trademark backed by an established manufacturing partner in Qingdao with real cross-border export experience. We focus on doing one thing well: making a soaker hose that holds up, and making it easy to buy at wholesale.

Established manufacturing partner

Our hose is produced by an established Qingdao manufacturer we work with directly, with experience supplying overseas marketplaces and private-label programs. You order under the pitta brand; we manage the factory relationship.

Built to outlast the season

The wall is a durable, anti-aging, UV-resistant PE-rubber chosen to survive a full outdoor season rather than crack after a few hot weeks. We design the kit to head off the three things buyers return hoses for: early aging, clogging, and bursting on high-pressure lines.

What the PT-RS12 is, and who it is for

The 1/2" Round Soaker Hose is pitta's wholesale workhorse, a US-spec porous hose (14.6 mm outer diameter) that waters plants at the root instead of spraying the air. Its wall is built from a durable PE-rubber blend that lets water weep out evenly along the entire length, so every foot of bed gets the same slow, deep soak. Buyers who carry it use it as their everyday soaker line: the one they reorder by the case once the season starts.

It is made for growers and gardeners who want to stop wasting water. Laid along garden beds, lawn edges, raised beds or orchard rows, the hose delivers moisture straight to the soil where roots can reach it, cutting the runoff and evaporation that sprinklers lose to wind and sun. Compared with overhead sprinklers, that root-level delivery is what lets a soaker hose water more efficiently than overhead sprinklers when used correctly.

Because the wall is an anti-aging, UV-resistant PE-rubber, the hose is built to hold up through a full outdoor season rather than crack after a few hot weeks. It coils flat for shipping and shelf display, cuts to length with garden scissors, and connects to a standard 3/4" garden tap. For wholesale buyers, it ships at low MOQ and is private-label ready, so it can go out under your own brand and packaging.

Built to fix what buyers return

Waters at the root, not the air

Weeps water at the root line instead of spraying it into the air, so far less is lost to wind, runoff and evaporation than with a sprinkler.

Anti-aging PE-rubber wall

A durable PE-rubber blend the supplier rates as anti-aging, built to survive a full outdoor season of sun and heat rather than crack early.

UV-resistant for outdoor runs

Holds up to direct sunlight on exposed beds and lawn edges, where thinner hoses tend to harden and split.

Even seepage, full length

The porous wall releases water along the whole hose, so the far end of a bed gets the same soak as the tap end, no dry spots.

Cut to length, easy connect

Trim it to fit a bed with garden scissors and join it to a standard 3/4" garden tap or a quick-connect fitting.

Burst-resistant with a regulator

On high-pressure home lines, pairing it with a pressure regulator keeps pressure in a safe range and helps prevent bursting.

Clog-resistant in use

A simple inline filter or end-cap flush keeps grit and hard-water deposits from building up inside the porous wall.

Low MOQ, private label ready

Order trial quantities to test a listing, then scale, with your own length, packaging and brand on the coil.

How a porous soaker hose seeps

1

A porous wall, not a sprayer

A soaker hose is not a drip line with holes and it is not a sprinkler. Its wall is porous along the entire length: under low water pressure, water weeps out through thousands of tiny pores in the PE-rubber rather than shooting out of nozzles. That is why you see the hose "sweat" beads of water all over its surface when the tap is on.

2

Water goes to the root, not the air

Because the water exits slowly at the soil surface, it soaks straight down into the root zone instead of misting into the air. Almost none is lost to wind or evaporation, and the leaves stay dry, which is also better for many plants. This is the mechanism behind the water saving from root-level delivery versus overhead sprinklers.

3

Low pressure is the point

Soaker hoses are designed to run at low pressure. Too much pressure forces water out unevenly and stresses the wall, which is why a pressure regulator is recommended on high-pressure home lines. Run at the right pressure, the hose seeps gently and evenly from end to end for hours at a time.

Vegetable beds, lawns, flowers and mulched borders

One hose covers the jobs home gardeners care about: lettuce and tomato beds, lawn edges, flower borders and mulched landscape beds. Laid along the row, it keeps the root zone evenly moist while the leaves and walkways stay dry.

Setting it up in the garden

  1. 01

    Connect to the tap

Attach the hose to a standard 3/4" garden tap, using a quick-connect fitting or threaded brass connector. If you are running several beds, branch the line with tee and elbow connectors.

  2. 02

    Lay it along the plants

Run the hose along the base of the plants or down the center of the bed, keeping it on the soil surface or just under a layer of mulch. Use stakes or pins to hold curves in place.

  3. 03

Add a pressure regulator above ~70 PSI

On high-pressure residential lines (commonly above ~70 PSI), fit a pressure regulator between the tap and the hose. This keeps pressure in a safe range and helps prevent bursting. Confirm the exact working pressure with us before ordering.

  4. 04

    Run it slow, then flush

Open the tap part-way so the hose seeps rather than sprays, and water for longer at low flow. Every so often, open the end cap and let the line flush to clear any grit and keep the pores clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

What water pressure does the 1/2" soaker hose need?
Soaker hoses run best at low pressure so they seep evenly instead of spraying. On a high-pressure home line (commonly above ~70 PSI) we recommend fitting a pressure regulator between the tap and the hose to keep pressure in a safe range and help prevent bursting. We confirm the exact working and burst pressure for your order before you buy, so please contact us for the spec.
Can the hose be cut to length?
Yes. You can trim the hose to fit a bed with garden scissors and cap the cut end, or join sections with tee and elbow connectors to branch around several beds. For wholesale orders we also coil to custom lengths such as 25, 50 or 100 ft.
How do I keep it from clogging?
Run the hose at low pressure, and fit a simple inline filter or flush the line through the end cap from time to time to clear grit and hard-water deposits. Those two habits keep the porous wall seeping evenly through the season.
How long does the hose last?
The wall is a durable PE-rubber blend the supplier rates as anti-aging and UV-resistant, built to hold up through a full outdoor season of sun and heat rather than crack early. Actual life depends on climate, water quality and pressure; running a regulator and flushing the line both help it last.
What is the hose made of?
The hose is made from a durable PE-rubber blend (PE plus rubber) chosen for outdoor durability and even seepage along the wall. It is built and sold for garden, lawn and orchard irrigation. If you need material test documentation for a specific application, contact us and we will share what the supplier can provide for your order.
Which climates and plants does it suit?
It works for vegetable beds, lawns, flower borders, raised beds and orchard rows in most outdoor climates. In hot, dry regions the water saving versus sprinklers is largest, because so little is lost to evaporation. In very cold climates, drain and store the hose before a hard freeze.
Do you offer private label and custom packaging?
Yes. The hose is private-label ready: we can put your brand on the coil, sleeve and carton, coil it to your lengths, and bundle it as a retail kit with connectors and fittings. Low MOQ lets you trial a listing before scaling to full-container volume.
What is the minimum order quantity?
MOQ is low and trial-friendly so you can test a listing before committing to volume. The exact MOQ, carton pack and price breaks depend on length and packaging; send us your target lengths and quantities and we will quote within one business day.
What payment and shipping terms do you offer?
We quote per order with payment and shipping terms suited to your volume and destination. Tell us your target market, quantities and incoterms preference, and we will lay out payment and lead-time options in the quote.
